Shopify SEO Expert for Growing Online Stores

Shopify handles the basics well, but its defaults leave growth on the table: product URLs duplicated under every collection, apps that slow the theme, thin collection pages and structured data that varies from theme to theme. I fix these inside your theme so the store ranks for the categories that drive revenue.

Common Shopify problems

Where Shopify stores lose organic traffic

Collection-aware product URLs

Themes often link to /collections/x/products/y, creating duplicate paths. I update the Liquid so internal links point to the canonical /products/ URL.

Thin collection pages

Collections are your category pages, yet most only show a title and products. I add intent-matched copy, FAQs and internal links without pushing products below the fold.

App and theme bloat

Every app adds scripts. I audit what loads on each template, remove leftovers from uninstalled apps and defer what is not needed above the fold.

Inconsistent product schema

Themes and apps can output duplicate or incomplete Product markup. I consolidate it into one valid JSON-LD block with offers, reviews (where genuine) and identifiers.

Tag and filter pages

Tag-filtered collections and filter parameters create indexable near-duplicates. I control them with canonicals, noindex rules and theme logic.

Blog content that does not sell

Shopify blogs often target topics with no path to a product. I plan articles that answer buying questions and link to the right collections.

Product and collection SEO

Structured data that matches what shoppers see

Product rich results need accurate price, availability and identifiers. I map your Shopify product data and metafields into clean JSON-LD and check it in the Rich Results Test and Merchant Center diagnostics, so the information Google shows matches the page.

  • Variant handling for size, colour and material options
  • Organisation details linked across the store

Speed

Faster Shopify themes without a full rebuild

You do not need a new theme to pass Core Web Vitals. Most gains come from the hero image, app scripts, font loading and oversized product images. I measure field data in Search Console and PageSpeed Insights, fix the worst templates first and keep the visual design intact.

When a theme really is beyond repair, I can rebuild it as part of a Shopify development project with SEO built in.

Shopify SEO FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Shopify SEO illustrated as a help panel
Is Shopify good for SEO?

Shopify is a solid base: hosting is fast, sitemaps and canonicals are generated automatically and SSL is included. The limits are the fixed URL structure (/products/, /collections/, /pages/), duplicate product paths created by some themes and the speed cost of apps. These can be managed with theme changes and good collection planning.

Can you change Shopify URLs like /collections/ and /products/?

No one can remove those fixed prefixes on standard Shopify. What matters more is choosing clear handles, linking internally to the canonical product URL and making collection pages strong enough to rank. I set up redirects for any handles that change.

Do you edit Liquid theme code?

Yes. I work in a duplicate of your live theme, make the changes in Liquid, sections and snippets, and only publish after you have reviewed the preview.

Will you remove apps from my store?

Only with your agreement. I list every app, what it loads and where, and recommend which to remove or replace. Often the biggest gains come from scripts left behind by apps that were uninstalled long ago.

Do you also build Shopify stores?

Yes. If you are launching a new store or replacing a theme, I can build it with collection architecture, schema and speed planned from the start, which costs less than fixing them later.
